A variety of technologies, software, and computer systems that realize human intellectual abilities on a computer. Examples of applications include natural language processing (machine translation, Kana-Kanji conversion, syntactic analysis, etc.), expert systems that mimic the reasoning and judgment of experts, and image recognition that analyzes image data to detect and extract specific patterns. Recently, they have been developing pathological diagnosis in medicine and nursing care devices.

Quantum Biology
It is a branch of science that attempts to describe life phenomena in the terms of quantum mechanics (i.e., to explain biological activities in terms of quantum mechanical ideas). Computer processing power is often the rate-limiting factor in the study of quantum biology. As the number of elements involved increases, the amount of processing required for a quantum model increases exponentially. It is rarely treated as an independent field and is often referred to as a "quantum biological approach" within the framework of biophysics or biochemistry.
